Past results: when I joined goMoxie in January 202, two of my colleagues entered the Tough Runner Bucks duathlon. One being his first duathlon, I thought I would join in supporting him. Although knowing how competitive I am, it was unlikely I would run alongside him should he be slower. I would cheer for him on the finish line if I were going to get faster. I didn’t really pay attention to the route – and take the opportunity to reinforce my top 10 tips – so I was a bit surprised to find a trail run (twice) with mud and hills. I completed the duathlon in 1h 30mn 6sec in the lovely Wendover woods, finishing 2nd in my age category and 6th overall.

Goals

  1. go hard
  2. get faster than 2020
  3. top 3 finish

Event details

Tough Runner UK is excited to introduce the second edition of the Buckinghamshire Duathlon, set in the glorious Wendover Woods. The run route will take you through Wendover woodlands on fire track roads/paths and then on to the fast bike course around the open Aylesbury roads.

The event is open to experienced athletes and beginners. This event will undoubtedly attract some of the UK’s most talented athletes. This is a race not to be missed. Wendover woods has been given a £4.5million redevelopment and is the perfect venue for a Tough Runner UK Duathlon event.

Sunday was our club champs. With my struggle with swimming, I knew the top spot wouldn’t be possible. Read how it all went on the day.

IM World Championships: why shifting from Kona to Nice is smart

The Ironman World Championships, the ultimate test of athletic endurance and perseverance, have long called Kona, Hawaii, their home. Its iconic setting, with relentless winds and lava fields, has engraved unforgettable memories into the annals of triathlon.

IronMan Weymouth 2023 race report

My not-so-serious race report from IronMan Weymouth 2023, where, luckily (?) the swim was cancelled and missed the world championships qualification.

BTS Club Champs 2023

A triathlon where I channelled my inner vintage enthusiast by racing on a bike that probably remembers when aero bars were still a wild sci-fi concept.

Challenge London Middle Distance

Have you ever encountered a book that left you both exhilarated and slightly frustrated? That’s the rollercoaster of emotions I experienced while reading the Wim Hof Method book. While I couldn’t deny the excitement I felt delving into the world of Wim Hof, finishing this relatively short book took me far longer than I initially anticipated.

Windsor & Eton Autumn Duathlon

This is the report of my fastest-ever standard duathlon. A 10k run, 40k bike ride and 5k run all under the 2 hours mark.
